Selection Process
Written examination– The written examination will be conducted for 300 marks and consist of objective-type questions. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. The questions will be based on General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical and Mental Ability, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates must score above a particular cut-off mark to be eligible for the next stage.
Physical Standard Test (PST)- This stage tests the candidates’ physical attributes. It involves measurements of height, weight, and chest (for male candidates). Candidates not meeting the specified physical criteria are disqualified from further stages.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)- It includes activities like running, long jump, high jump, etc. The specific activities and their requirements may vary.
Document Verification- In this stage, documents are verified to confirm the candidate’s eligibility and authenticity. Documents typically verified include educational certificates, domicile certificates, age proof, identity proof, and reservation category certificates (if applicable).
UP Police Constable Written Exam Schedule
With the tentative examination schedule, candidates preparing for the recruitment must be aware of the key dates and timelines. The written examination is planned for February 18, 2024. Candidates are advised to check the website regularly for updates and schedule changes. An exam notice will be published on the official portal accordingly.

UPPRPB Constable Exam Pattern
- The exam will be for 2 hours (120 minutes).
- It will be an objective exam.
- It will consist of four papers: General Hindi, General Knowledge, Numerical & Mental Ability Test, and Mental Aptitude /Intelligence /Reasoning.
- The exam will be of 300 marks in total with 150 questions, and each question will carry +2 marks.
- There will be a negative marking of 0.5 for every wrong answer.
- The exam will be in a bilingual language (English & Hindi).
