Manchester United defeated Wolves 4-3 at Molineux thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Kobbie Mainoo. United had their finest first-half performance of the season, scoring two goals that went in and two more that were correctly disallowed for offside. As a result, they moved up to seventh place in the Premier League rankings.

Manchester United Vs Wolves: Game Highlghts

Manchester United dominated the first half, creating numerous chances and having two goals disallowed. A significant portion of the pregame excitement revolved around Marcus Rashford, who gave United the lead in just 5 minutes after being left off the roster the previous weekend. Later in the half, Rasmus Hojlund extended United’s lead.

Wolves dominated the second half of the game for a short while, and they were rewarded with a penalty, although an easy one. Substitute Pablo Sarabia scored past Andre Onana after Casemiro had taken down Neto.  But two minutes later, Scott McTominay’s header from a Bruno Fernandes corner gave United their two-goal advantage back. With this goal, the Scostman tied his career high for goals scored in a United season with his seventh goal overall.

As United tried to defend from a corner once again, Max Kilman poked past Onana, and with nine minutes remaining, the game was abruptly on. United committed far too many players as they earned a corner in injury time, and even though they were making an effort to hold onto their advantage, they were ultimately made to pay for it. After Antony dropped the ball, Wolves attacked quickly until Neto found the back of the net.

This season, when United has lost, players’ heads have occasionally dropped, but not this time. In the seventh minute of injury time(97th), Mainoo scored a stunning individual goal for United to win the match right up the other way.

After the game’s reaction

After the game, Mainoo said to TNT Sports, “It’s a dream come true.” Molineux is a difficult place to visit. We had to win. I haven’t recovered from it yet. To be honest, I still feel as though I’m dreaming. It’s been incredible to begin representing my boyhood club in the Premier League. The goal now is to attempt to win more games.”

The youngster continued, “He is a good role model to look up to and to share the pitch with him is crazy.” in reference to playing with Bruno Fernandes.

The captain of Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes, gave the 18-year-old Mainoo credit for his composed finish in the heated atmosphere. “He has a lot of skill. I’ve watched him play for the Under-18s, and I mentioned Kobbie’s name a few years back without knowing if he would play for the starting squad,” he stated to TNT.

A “massive” victory for his team was described by Erik ten Hag.

Our performance was excellent, and we controlled the game for an hour. 3-0 or 4-0 should have been our lead. In the end, the manner we give up goals is really foolish, and we didn’t,” he remarked. “It shouldn’t happen, but then we showed great resilience, especially Kobbie Mainoo, it was a great goal,” the manager stated.
