Real Madrid defeated Girona 4-0 on Saturday, increasing their advantage at the top of the league to five points. The victory was concluded on by brace from Jude Bellingham and goals from Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.

Six minutes into the match, Vinicius Jr. scored the first goal for the home team after receiving a feed from Fede Valverde and curling a fantastic long-range effort into the net, his seventh league goal of the year.
In the 36th minute, Vinicius’ through pass put Bellingham up for a simple finish past Girona goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, doubling the lead. In the 54th minute, he scored his second goal of the evening by netting a loose ball in the six-yard box.
After receiving his second assist of the match from fellow Brazilian Vinicius, Rodrygo completed the rout in the 61st minute by launching a rocket into the far corner, and in the closing seconds of play, Joselu missed a penalty.

Girona was unable to respond to Real’s superiority in any way as they were unable to hit the goal the entire game and ultimately lost badly.
Jude Bellingham’s Injury
The England international’s night ended badly as he was forced off with an ankle injury. Bellingham has now scored more La Liga goals for Real Madrid in a single season this century than any other midfielder.
After tumbling to the ground following his collision with Pablo Torre, he received treatment on the field for a few minutes before carefully standing up.
