Google has redesigned its chatbot and introduced a new subscription plan that would allow users to access its most sophisticated AI model, putting it directly against OpenAI.

KEY POINTS

Today, Google stated that it will be launching the advanced tier Ultra and renaming its AI chatbot Bard as Gemini, the underlying large language model. Gemini Advanced is the new name for the upgraded Bard. Additionally, the business is releasing a new Gemini app for Android and an iOS Google app so that consumers may access Gemini Advanced.

According to Google, the new app may perform a variety of functions, such as acting as a personal instructor, assisting programmers with coding assignments, and even getting job seekers ready for interviews.

In the newsroom, Sundar Pichai declared the opening of the AI subscription tier, stating, “The version with Ultra will be called Gemini Advanced, a new experience far more capable at reasoning, following instructions, coding, and creative collaboration.” Additionally, he disclosed that Google One will bundle the Gemini Advanced membership, which will be known as the Google One AI Premium plan. Therefore, in addition to 2TB of cloud storage capacity, users who subscribe to it will also receive all the other advantages of Google One.
