Cristiano Ronaldo, star football player from Portugal, scored his 54th goal of the year in Al Nassr’s 4-1 Saudi Pro League victory over Al Taawoun to close out 2023 as the world’s top goal scorer. Earlier goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Aymeric Laporte, and Otavio had put Al Nassr firmly in charge, the 38-year-old headed goal in the 92nd minute. After this win, Al Nassr stands at 2nd place with 46 points after 19 games, Al Hilal holds a seven-point lead over Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League standings.
Since making his debut with Al Nassr in January, he has scored 44 goals in 50 appearances for Al Nassr in Saudi Pro League. He also scored 10 goals in 9 international matches for Portugal in 2023. After this match, in 2023 his overall tally for this calendar year is 54 goals in 59 matches.
With a post on Instagram, the 38-year-old celebrated this accomplishment by saying “54 – I’ll say when it’s finished! Thanks, team.”

Speaking with SSC Sports, a Saudi media news outlet, Ronaldo said, “I’m very happy, it was a good year for me as an individual and as a collective. I have scored so many goals, I helped the team a lot at Al-Nassr and also for the Portugal national team. I feel good, I feel happy and next year I will try to do it again.”
