Australia won the 2nd Test

2nd Test, Day 4 of Australia vs Pakistan : Australia won the series at MCG after defeating Pakistan by 79 runs in the second Test Match consecutively. Man of the Match, Pat Cummins led from the front. Cummins finished his amazing spell with 10/97 after taking five wickets in each  innings as Australia destroyed Pakistan’s batting order. In the second innings, Pakistan was all out for 237 while chasing a total of 317, with Mitchell Starc taking four wickets and Cummins with five wickets.

Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match Highlights : 

Summary of First Innings AUS vs PAK : After winning the toss, Pakistan Put  Aussies to bat first. Australians makes a respectable 318 runs in their opening innings, led by a fifty-plus effort from captain Marnus Labuschagne. All the bowlers of Pakistan team did a decent bowling in the first innings.

In reply, Pakistan’s responded by scoring 264 runs, including fifties from Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood. Australia manages to stop Pakistan on 264 with Pat Cummins five wicket haul.

Summary of Second innings AUS vs PAK : 

Australia loses their early 4 wickets in just 16 runs with a lead of just 70 runs, but an amazing partnership of 153 runs between Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh lifted them out of a difficult situation. M.Marsh misses his century by only 4 runs. Later in the same innings, Alex Carey added a fifty to help the hosts to reach 262 runs, giving Pakistan a respectable target of 317 runs. Both Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza took 4 wickets in the 2nd innings.

While Chasing target of 317 runs, Pakistan were bowled out on 237 runs. Australian players Pat Cummins 5 wickets and Mitchell Starc with 4 wickets helps Australia to win 2nd consecutive match and took a lead of 2-0 in a 3 match Test series.

Pat Cummins won Man of the Match with his amazing 10 wicket contribution in the game. 

The third and final Test between these two teams was played on 3rd January at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
