Rohit Sharma expressed his delight with a heartfelt social media post dedicated to Sarfaraz Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel following India’s impressive 434-run victory over England in Rajkot.
In the third Test against England, Indian captain Rohit Sharma witnessed the next generation stepping up in the whites. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Dhruv Jurel made significant contributions with the bat and in the field, playing pivotal roles in India’s commanding 434-run victory. Jaiswal and Sarfaraz forged crucial partnerships in the middle, while Jurel showcased brilliance behind the stumps and executed a remarkable run-out.
Following India’s resounding victory against Ben Stokes’ men, Rohit Sharma took to social media to share a delightful post dedicated to the trio of Jaiswal, Sarfaraz, and Jurel. Captioning the Instagram story with a touch of humor, Rohit wrote, “Ye aajkal ke bacche (these kids of the current generation),” accompanied by pictures of the three Team India players.
At the post-match press conference as well, the India skipper credited the young and inexperienced members of his side for their role in delivering the team’s biggest ever Test win, in terms of runs.
“Obviously it’s a very good feeling to win a game like that and especially with such a young team as well. (We had) two debutants (Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel) and not a lot of Test matches amongst the playing eleven as well,” Rohit told the media here after India’s win.
“A lot of these guys are learning from the experience that they’re having in the middle. We got to learn a lot about how we played in Hyderabad and then in Vizag when we won.”

Rohit said India have had to work really hard given the circumstances (injuries to senior players).
“We knew it’s not going to be an easy one for us to just come out here and win the series. We have (had) to work really, really hard, especially with a lot of our front line players missing as well,” Rohit said.
“I haven’t seen Sarfaraz bat that much. But all the people I’ve heard from, the players who are from Mumbai, (that) he’s made runs in a lot of difficult situations for Mumbai,” Rohit said.
“He’s hungry for runs and for the last 4-5 years, he’s continuously made runs in domestic cricket, so (that means) he’s doing something good,” Rohit said.
“We didn’t discuss any plans with him. Because I know that if you let him be, he’ll do his your job, which I’ve heard from the players from Mumbai,” he added.
